Thonet Bentwood Side Chair Circa 1859 - Walnut

Thonet Bentwood Side Chair Circa 1859 - Walnut Dollhouse Miniature

This miniature reproduction dollhouse chair is the famous thonet bentwood side chair circa 1859 which has been painstakingly reproduced in 1:12 scale. The dollhouse miniature thonet bentwood side chair is finished in rich Walnut and measures 3.5" tall by 1.5" wide by 1.625" deep. This chair designed by Michael Thonet(1796-1871) shows off his technique of softening wood with steam and molding it for chair components. The curvaceous but open and uncluttered look to this chair is prescient of 20th century modernism. It is often referred to as the "bistro chair" and is one of the most popular chair designs of all time.
